Flow Like A Pro: Our Guide to the 7 Best Yoga Studios in LA

Flow Like A Pro: Our Guide to the 7 Best Yoga Studios in LA

There’s certainly no shortage of amazing yoga studios in L.A. — the capital of wellness nation — but finding “the one” (like, the one you want to visit daily and spend the rest of your life with) is a mission that calls for some expert guidance. Local yogi and superfood goddess, Sophie Jaffe, is giving us a tour of her favorites around town. Discover some of the best yoga studios in LA below…

This post is part of an ongoing collaboration with The Chalkboard Mag.

While I often zen out at home with a yoga flow, I absolutely love taking my practice to the studio, where I can always count on the community, the oh-so-inspiring teachers and the powerful energy everyone brings to the space.

Here are my 7 favorite places for cultivating time to bliss-out and celebrate movement, mind and breath.

Love Yoga, Venice

It only takes one visit to Love Yoga to fall in love with their vibrant, mood-boosting turquoise walls and incredible practices steeped in perspective-shifting dialogue. You’ll be musing over the teacher’s pearls of wisdom long after class is over. This beautiful studio offers a packed schedule of strong teachers (I love Miki Ash’s and Jana Romer’s classes!), as well as awesome workshops and gatherings that help you further dive into the deep connection between your physiology and psychology. Join me on the mat there –- I’ll be teaching in September and October on Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m.! (And Love Yoga is coming soon to Silverlake!)

Hot 8 Yoga, Beverly Hills + Santa Monica

Hot 8 is my go-to workout for maximum efficiency. When I only have an hour and want an intensely hard workout, this is my spot! The heat helps you move into the poses quickly and safely without as long of a warm-up, while also stimulating the lymphatic system, which helps your body flush out toxins. My fave class is their Hot Yoga Barre, a fusion of yoga, barre, body sculpting and non-impact cardio that always leaves me feeling super toned.

Yoga Collective, Venice

As a down-to-earth, funky, friendly studio, the Yoga Collective epitomizes those wonderful Venice vibes. The Collective features sweaty, strengthening classes with amazing tunes, plus they’re right next to Cafe Gratitude and only a few blocks from the beach. Their teachers guide yummy flows rooted in Ashtanga and Iyengar; my faves are Rachelle Tratt and Jackie Smyth. In a typical class, you’ll be mat to mat with the people next to you in a very hot room, so come with an open heart and a big bottle of water. After class, I recommend heading down to the ocean to meditate amongst sand and salt air!

Power Yoga, Santa Monica

This is the very first place I practiced yoga when I moved to LA fourteen years ago! Bryan Kest, who’s been practicing yoga since he was fourteen years old, started this beautiful, spacious studio so his students could explore freedom and discovery –- the essence of Power Yoga. His studio has a wide array of incredible teachers; a few of my favorites are Dan Ward, Bryan Kest, Anaswara and Travis Elliott. Thanks to the supportive dialogue from the instructors, you’ll come away from all of the classes feeling empowered and stronger in spirit.

Yoga Salt, Culver City

Yoga Salt was founded by my favorite yoga instructor, Tamal Dodge. I completed my 200-hour teacher training with Tamal. He’s literally the sweetest human you’ll meet -– if you listen to his Salty Thoughts podcast, you’ll see exactly what I mean. Each episode, he shares inspiring conversations with wellness leaders on everything from yoga to conscious business to meditation. If you love a sweaty, vinyasa flow, paired with acoustic guitar and a voice of angels, go to Tamal’s class.

Wanderlust, Hollywood

Wanderlust is a three-story mecca for yogi lovers in LA. They’re the people behind the amazing transformational festivals and believe that a “well seasoned yogi is a well rounded person.” This philosophy is definitely reflected in their incredible events, meetups and yoga classes led by fantastic teachers like Marybeth LaRue, Aarona Lea and Caley Alyssa. They even have a full restaurant with a high-vibrational menu for all meals of the day -– their yellow shakshuka paired with a pressed juice is simply dreamy. They also have kombucha on tap, matcha lattes and superfood smoothies!

Soulplay Yoga, Culver City

This fun, playful studio offers the most amazing children’s yoga classes that both of my kids take weekly. We love these classes for little yogis so much! While I visit the farmers’ market, the kids get to nurture their self confidence, increase their focus, build physical and mental awareness and have a blast on the mat. They also offer pre- and post-natal classes for new mamas!

LibraLIBRA

September 23–October 22

Even though it’s your birthday season, you need plenty of private time, since your ruler, Venus, is tucked away in your release corner. Her tête-a-tête with Pluto is sure to intensify your feelings behind closed doors. If you have a partner, sex will be extra emo during this transit, and you might connect on such a deep level that you become a bit overwhelmed. If you’re alone, you could find yourself pining for an ex or a secret crush. It may help to talk to someone you trust or to channel strong emotions through some form of art. Do you have a movie you watch when you need a good cry or when you want confirmation that love conquers all? Press play! Venus’s meetup with Mars pushes you to also translate all those feels into action. If you’re with someone, you’ve got that covered! But if you’re flying solo, a compassionate gesture or selfless endeavor will be its own reward. When Venus runs into trouble with Saturn, you might experience guilt over the past or have difficulty coming to terms with an ending. You may have a sense of being cut off from people, but hours later, a sun-Mercury rendezvous in Libra will pick you back up. You’ll suddenly feel much more like talking to people and will be full of ideas and plans for the future. A day trip would hit the spot, but if that’s a no-go, at least check out an unfamiliar corner of your neighborhood or talk to someone you don’t know. This week’s full moon occurs in your one-on-one angle, the section of the chart that’s associated with Libran matters like partnership and diplomacy. A watershed moment in a relationship may push it to the next level or bring it to a close. Heightened emotions are to be expected, not only because full moons make us moodier, but also because this one happens to be bickering with penetrating Pluto in your feelings-and-memories zone, bringing some heavy stuff to the surface. Try not to overreact if it gets tense; believe it or not, redirecting your attention to a goal might be a great outlet.

ScorpioSCORPIO

October 23–November 21

Private Scorps aren’t the gregarious type, but when amiable Venus dances through your group zone at this time of year, you’ll play the social butterfly if the spirit moves you. Her vibe with your ruling planet, Pluto, inspires you to mingle Scorpio-style — by having deep conversations that go on for hours. Share secrets with your bff, get to the bottom of something going on in your squad, express your true feelings, even if they’re a little dark. This is the type of transit where you could spend an entire party in the corner, talking to someone who ends up being a friend for life. Venus’s mashup with Mars favors social action, so team up with people who share your interests or ideals and make something happen. If you want to join an organization, make new friends or establish professional contacts, this is an amazing time for that. The Venus-Mars mashup can also set off sexual sparks with a platonic pal or make a large gathering lively and memorable. When Venus scuffles with Saturn in your worth sector, there’s a good chance that low self-esteem will make you feel less outgoing or low funds will keep you from socializing to the extent that you’d like to. You can be realistic about your finances or acknowledge a dip in your confidence and decide to proceed anyway, in a modified form that you’re comfortable with. A full moon is bound to interrupt your fun and draw your attention to a work or wellness matter, possibly by instigating a crisis of sorts. If you’ve been putting off ending a bad habit, dropping something from your schedule or addressing your health, the clock is ticking! Watch out for drama on the job too. Due to a harsh angle between the moon and Pluto, tempers could flare, leading to destructive words. A project you’ve been working on may come to fruition now, so keep pushing towards the finish line. Your imagination and intuition are firing on all cylinders. Take note of your dreams, write in a journal, meditate, reflect and listen to your wise inner voice.

SagittariusSAGITTARIUS

November 22–December 21

Getting along well with your colleagues and turning on the charm with higher-ups can pay off this week when Venus in your ambition angle harmonizes with Pluto in your resources house. You’ll thrive by coming across as pleasant and professional, so play the part. And look the part by dressing for success! If you’re shopping, zero in on clothes that help you to polish your public image, even if you’re not in the workforce at the moment. The idea is to keep a high profile and draw positive attention. If you want to impress your boss, dig deep into your treasure trove of talents and show off a bit. Venus and Mars are doing the tango, nudging you to reinforce all the good PR with some solid action. This combo allows you to soften the rough edges if you’re coming on like gangbusters in your eagerness to compete for the brass ring. To direct your energy, focus on a project that you’re passionate about. You might be attracted to someone who has authority over you or someone older than you, and the feeling could very well be mutual. If you have a significant other, this is a useful transit for setting goals as a couple. With Venus running into a roadblock named Saturn, you’ll be the only person stopping you from shining. Turn this into an opportunity to refine creative work or plan how you want to build a certain reputation for yourself. But don’t be hard on yourself because this is no time to step back from the spotlight. The full moon reminds you that you’re a fun-loving sign who needs time to play. A romantic relationship could reach the boiling point — for better or for worse — or you might finish up a personal project. You’re probably spending plenty of time with friends or participating in a team effort, but you’ll feel an urge now to do whatever you’re in the mood for without having to put it to a vote. A moon-Pluto spat means your confidence or finances could be on the line if you go too far, so be careful whom you pour your heart out to and how much you spend in your quest to have a good time.

CapricornCAPRICORN

December 22–January 19

It’s essential to enjoy pleasures way outside your comfort zone this week because Venus in your exploration sector is teaming up with Pluto to ensure your personal growth. New experiences will feel like they were meant to be, as they resonate on a deep level with the person you’re slowly becoming. Enjoying a trip, talking to someone who’s foreign to you, exposing yourself to a different culture or religion, becoming more aware of how other people live, listening to music from a faraway country, being attracted to a person from a different background — experiences such as these can feed the transformation taking place inside you and affirm your connection with the wider world. Venus’s encounter with Mars encourages you to really go for it, so make the first move with that person who’s not your usual type, book a vacay to your dream destination, sign up for salsa lessons or enroll in a Mandarin class. This part of the chart is all about taking risks. There’s a chance you’ll talk yourself into playing it safe when Saturn slows Venus’s roll. Don’t let self-doubt take over, but do use lessons from the past to perfect your plans. In contrast, a full moon at the base of your chart wants you to focus on home and family, and it could get your attention with a big development. Since the moon is fighting with Pluto in Cap, a flare-up on the home front may kick you into control-freak mode, and you might end up pouring gasoline on the fire. A power struggle with your mother or another woman is likely to involve manipulation and jealousy, so try to steer clear. Respect the strong emotions brewing inside you without unleashing them on anyone. Your mood, your family and your living situation are subject to change, and you can make things harder if you attempt to subdue it. A sun-Mercury meeting in the opposite house gives you a suitable outlet for your energy. Craft a business plan, articulate your goals, toot your own horn to people in power, start studying something that will help your career, give a presentation at work or plot the next move in your life path.

AquariusAQUARIUS

January 20–February 18

The forecast is hot, hot, hot for Water Bearers, despite the falling temps outside. That’s because amorous Venus is flirting her way through your intimacy zone and working her magic on lusty Mars and intense Pluto this week. It’s not just that your libido is in overdrive; you’re craving a soul-deep connection with someone and could very well get it. This is not the week for going to parties as a couple or getting your friends together with his. Privacy is a prerequisite for closeness now, and just like last week, diving deeper into strong emotions rather than taking a step back from them will enrich your experience. And Venus’s tryst with Mars has physical passion written all over it. It’s the ideal blend of drawing someone to you magnetically and playing the pursuer role yourself. No partner in sight? These transits won’t go to waste! The same house that governs intimacy is also concerned with psychology, transformation, sharing and merging. You might do some serious bonding with a friend, solicit the support that you want (including financial support), get in touch with your emotional core, shift something inside you and recover from a wounding, loss or crisis. Again, much of this is quite private, so don’t hesitate to carve out time at home or to consult a healing professional. When Venus gets the cold shoulder from Saturn in your network sector, social obligations could interfere with couple time or alone time — or your squad might pose an obstacle of some sort. You might also hesitate to make this relationship or your emotional process public, and delaying wouldn’t be a mistake. Whatever you do, don’t let groupthink squelch whatever good feeling you find for yourself. A full moon can bring a flood of info or a flurry of activity around you, and you might get overwhelmed. Watch what you say, because an outburst could bring secrets into the light. If you’re stretched too thin, remember to keep it simple and deal with one thing at a time. You might squeeze in a getaway to clear your mind or try balancing the frenzy of the moment with plans for the future.

PiscesPISCES

February 19–March 20

If you’re hoping to meet someone new, bank on the power of the connections you already have in your life and the technology that’s at your disposal. Pluto is camped out in your network zone for the long haul, pushing you to build and rebuild a circle of friends, acquaintances, peers and contacts. You could find a prospective partner through this circle — probably via an introduction, but don’t rule out the possibility of a friend turning into something more! This zone also governs tech, so dating apps, social media or coding class could play Cupid. Attached Fishes will enjoy deep friendship with their mates or have fun together at parties and other gatherings. The union of Venus and Mars brings harmony in your relationships, but it won’t be overly sedate. On the contrary! This planetary pairing alludes to major attraction and desire. If you’re not interested in anyone at the moment, the energy is also perfect for creative collaboration and getting tons of pleasure out of shared activities. Venus isn’t getting along nearly as well with Saturn, which tells you that focusing too much on where a relationship is going might ruin the moment. Or you might be having fun with someone and then one of you gets too bossy, upsetting the equilibrium between you. The sun and Mercury are joining forces, but neither is in sync with Neptune in Pisces. Try not to romanticize intimacy to the point where you’re not sharing your true selves. When you’re very close to someone — whether it’s a sexual relationship or a deep friendship — you’re merging the lives of two separate beings, and that tends to get messy. And when Neptune is involved, such an attachment can veer into enmeshment. Being your real self with someone and speaking your truth is a kind of nakedness, and intimate dialogue is favored now. If you’re alone, shine a light into your psyche and try to understand yourself better. A full moon in the opposite house will make you emotional about your wants, so avoid retail therapy if you’re on a budget. Your needs, finances, values, priorities or possessions can seem more important than those of someone close to you or pose a problem with a group. Avoid an all-or-nothing attitude, and try to put your feelings into words.

AriesARIES

March 21–April 19

You can get a sense of deep satisfaction and feel like you’re making progress when you concentrate on creative work or a project you truly enjoy — all thanks to lovely Venus in your productivity corner working her charms on potent Pluto in your ambition angle. Putting heart and imagination into what you’re doing and working in harmony with others will help you edge that boulder up the hill. This is also a fantastic time to work on a relationship and deepen your resolve to achieve shared goals together. If you could use help with whatever you’re doing, ask nicely and people will probably be happy to pitch in. Venus and Mars are aligned, which means assertiveness and amiability will complement each other beautifully. The house they’re in also rules wellness, so while Mars nudges you to be proactive about improving your health, Venus hints it will be easier with support. Hit the gym at lunchtime with a coworker, swap nutritious recipes with a friend or ask your partner to check your back for suspicious moles. You can get so much accomplished while Mars is charging through this house, and Venus reminds you that you don’t have to fly solo. When she encounters trouble with Saturn, you might question what you’re doing and lose faith in the fact that the work you’re doing now (to improve a relationship or your health or to complete a project) has meaning. It may seem like all the little stuff doesn’t add up. You could feel constricted by the rules of life — anything from eating lots of veggies to making compromises in a relationship — and doubt the ultimate worth of doing things by the book. When a full moon lands in Aries, all the feels could become too much for you! Don’t hesitate to sneak off and administer emergency self-TLC. Avoid going up against authority (the moon is sparring with powerful Pluto), and try to talk to people who are on an equal level with you, like your s.o. or a friend. They’re more likely to understand where you’re coming from than you think. Last, take note of what is pushing you over the edge. What or whom feels like too much right now? Releasing something or someone from your life could be just what you need.

TaurusTAURUS

April 20–May 20

This week’s encounter between pleasure-seeking Venus and powerful Pluto spans your fulfillment and expansion sectors, inspiring you to enjoy life for your own good! Don’t play it too safe when it comes to pleasurable experiences. If you hope to learn more about life and find out what possibilities lie in wait for you, coloring within the lines won’t do you any favors. Bulls have a tendency to stay in their comfort zone, but the love and happiness the universe is offering call for you to take a chance and explore unfamiliar territory. Pursue an attraction to someone who’s not from your world. Try your hand at something creative you don’t believe you have a talent for. If you can swing a trip at this time, travel will be even more enriching than usual. If you have a partner, a romantic getaway is likely to bring you closer. And if you fall for someone new, this person will probably be different from you in some way, and you could become quite swept up in the affair. Venus and Mars are forming an alliance, alluding to a connection rooted in both love and lust. You can also channel this sweet stimulation into a creative effort or pretty much any fun activity of your choosing. The point is to revel in being yourself and going after what you want, with an alluringly soft touch. Venus is crossing swords with Saturn, implying that you’ll have at least a moment late in the week when intimacy feels like work, and someone might shut you out. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to pause and examine the true nature of this connection. You want to be who you are and share your feelings but might not be getting the exact response you’re after. The full moon gives you a great excuse to focus on your own spiritual needs. Pay attention to your dreams and instincts because the contents of your subconscious are bubbling to the surface now. Try to balance the busyness in your daily life with sufficient downtime for recharging your battery. You have the energy to get a lot done and do focused intellectual work, but don’t neglect your inner life!

GeminiGEMINI

May 21–June 20

Even if the weather is lovely where you live, with Venus getting cozy in your domestic angle, you may be in full-on nesting mode. Perhaps you’re on a decorating spree and up to your eyeballs in throw pillows and paint swatches. Or you’re combining socializing and cocooning by playing hostess for a girls night in. You’re probably getting along well with your parents or housemates and enjoying a generally good mood. Now that Venus is flirting with Pluto, all that coziness could take a sexy turn! This transit is about getting up close and personal behind closed doors, not making the rounds of parties together or going out to dinner at a loud restaurant. Emotional bonding is in the cards, but since libidinous Mars is also getting in on the act, you might end up going the Netflix-and-chill route. If you develop a new crush now, chances are the object of your affection will be a familiar person with whom you feel comfortable. And if this marks the birth of a new relationship, it’s bound to be an intense one. A Venus-Saturn scuffle hints at tension between keeping things the way they are and making a commitment. So you and your significant other might get really close and then hit an impasse if it feels too serious for a lighthearted Twin. Solo Gems can get a lot out of these transits by sinking your teeth into a fun, challenging project around the house; indulging in simple pleasures that transform your emotional state; and gaining powerful insights into your own psyche by connecting with a family member or someone who’s known you forever. Relaxing at home may conflict with your obligations to others at some point, darkening your mood temporarily. But with Mercury hugging the vibrant sun, you’ll be able to maintain your famous sense of humor and keep your spirits bright. Creative writing and reading for pleasure are highly favored now. A full moon is opposing this planetary pair, hinting at possible drama in your squad. If a particular friendship or affiliation with a group has run its course, it might be best to let it go. You could reach a peak with teamwork or enjoy an epic night out with your crew too. Do what you can to balance personal pleasure and group interests.

CancerCANCER

June 21–July 22

Take a cue from enticing Venus, who’s currently ensconced in your community zone: You don’t need to look any further than your own neighborhood if you’re hoping for a meet cute. Whether you opt to play pool at the corner pub, stroll through the farmers’ market or chat up everyone who stops to pet your dog, love (or at the very least, attraction!) is close to home. You might fall for a neighbor or be introduced to someone through neighbors, and a sibling might also play matchmaker. Coupled Crabs could feel so demonstrative you let the L-word slip for the first time. Conversation will be intense in a good way, and taking a short trip together would be a bonding experience. Since Venus is lining up with mobilizing Mars, local activism and community beautification will connect you with cool people and keep your good mood going. This happens to be an amazing opportunity for you to be assertive without coming on too strong, so stand up for yourself or sell others on your ideas. Venus’s clash with Saturn implies a tight schedule, onerous workload, depleted energy or self-criticism can be a killjoy. But if you’re enjoying an experience, determination and disciplined thinking can help you to sustain the good vibes. Regardless of your relationship status, if you need to have an important talk with someone close to you, this may be a good week for it, as it brings a caring but direct tone, a pleasant but proactive mindset, powerful one-on-one bonding and pragmatic analysis. Plus, with the sun and Mercury coalescing at the base of your chart, you’re able to tune into your innermost thoughts and feelings and give voice to them. A full moon in the opposite house could spell a turning point in your career path or life direction, and a goal may come to fruition now. You might be walking on eggshells around your boss, though, since this lunation brings heightened emotions around authority figures. Just say no to power struggles, and be willing to let an old aspiration fall by the wayside if it no longer feels relevant to the person you are today. And don’t hesitate to grab alone time if you need it — full moons can be overwhelming!

LeoLEO

July 23–August 22

With covetous Venus in your resources zone, you’re serious about getting what you need, whether that’s a new fall coat or a stable, stand-up guy. Her assignation with heavy-hitter Pluto in your productivity corner sends a message that your desires will be satisfied by the hard work you’ve been doing and continue to do. You might start bringing in more money as a result of changes in your job description. Under this influence, a splurge or an attraction is likely to fall within the boundaries of reason and feel totally worth it. And if you have a creative aptitude that can enhance the work you do, now’s the time to use it! Strong self-confidence will inspire you to improve your health, and the reverse is also true: Any effort to transform your physical wellbeing is sure to make you feel good about yourself. Venus’s current placement coaxes you to indulge your senses, so opt for a trail ride on a mountain bike instead of spin class, or do Tai Chi in the park rather than a YouTube workout at home. A Venus-Mars meetup causes you to be more assertive in order to make sure your needs are met. You’ll have an easy time acting on your priorities and behaving in accordance with your personal values. If you’ve been putting off cleaning out your closets, hunting down items on your shopping list or tackling your finances, this planetary pairing persuades you to go for it. Venus’s spat with Saturn alludes to a possible dip in your self-worth or doubts about what you have to offer and whether your gifts can bring security. But this transit can also keep a shopping spree under control by persuading you that you won’t get that much pleasure out of those $1,000 boots. A sun-Mercury coupling livens up your thinking and helps you to put tons of personality into everything you say. So speak up! You’ll also have loads of energy for writing and plenty of great ideas. A full moon might test your faith or bring an urge for adventure, and you could get into a disagreement if you push your opinions without leaving room for doubt. This is your best lunation of the year for kicking an outdated belief to the curb, so identify one that limits you and let it go.

VirgoVIRGO

August 23–September 22

Just because your birthday season is in the rearview mirror doesn’t mean you’re lying low. Temptress Venus and self-starter Mars are waltzing through Virgo, lending you oodles of sociability and swagger. Plus the two cosmic lovebirds are joining forces this week, putting everyone on notice that you’re irresistible and unstoppable. Use your superpowers wisely because this kickass combo doesn’t come around every day. Coax someone to get onboard with your agenda, reel in your crush so artfully he thinks he’s pursuing you, draw people to you like a moth to a flame then enjoy making a strong impression on them. The idea isn’t to manipulate others; you’re simply blending come-hither Venusian vibes with Martian cojones. Venus is also flirting with power player Pluto in your love-and-happiness zone, intensifying romantic and pleasurable experiences. So if you fall for someone now, you’ll fall hard; if you go out and enjoy life, it’s gonna be epic; and if your attention turns to a creative project, you’ll pour your heart and soul into it. Pluto doesn’t want you to have a superficial good time. He wants you to be very emotionally involved. When Venus bumps into Saturn in your foundation angle, family or domestic obligations, private insecurity or the feeling that your past is catching up with you can take the wind out of your sails. You could have trouble relating and might even feel a bit lonely. Spending time by yourself pondering what you want from people would be a smart move. Meanwhile, a sun-Mercury alliance in your worth house sharpens your financial judgment and gets you to focus on what you have going for you and what you need. Business ventures and negotiations should go well, and you might opt to draw up a budget now to take advantage of your clarity. The full moon in the opposite house compels you to also honor the needs of others, and a close relationship could heat up in a good way or a bad way. There are bound to be strong feelings in the mix, whether you’re grappling with an issue of mine-versus-ours or a psychological crisis of your own. Deep transformation is at hand, so don’t back away.

LibraLIBRA

September 23–October 22

All year, you’ve been on a quest to grow, courtesy of expansive Jupiter’s stay in your sign. “Go big or go home!” has been your mission statement, and you may be more wrapped up in your own explorations than you are in your relationships, which is unusual for you. This week’s Jupiter-Uranus faceoff is the last of three (the first two occurred on December 26, 2016 and March 3, 2017), and by now, you might have noticed a theme. Have flaky people, relationship ups and downs, a breakup or an unpredictable partner caused you to swerve off course at times? Do you need more space than usual so you can focus on your personal path? An urge for freedom will tempt you to make a rash move, but don’t overreact. Keep learning about yourself and exploring new avenues in your life, while also allowing people to march to their own beat. If you can’t get those two things onto the same page now, so be it. Breathe through the tension and don’t get caught up in trying to win a battle. Jupiter only visits Libra every 12 years and will be segueing into Scorpio in a couple of weeks, so keep traveling on your path of personal growth. With Pluto wrapping up his five-month retrograde, those deep, dark emotions and memories you’ve been struggling with privately will start to shift. And if your family or home life has been a source of stress, the way forward should become more apparent. Mars and Pluto are working together, giving you a chance to confront a regressive behavior pattern, dive into a big domestic project or make one last push to finish something up. If you face something within yourself under this influence, you should be able to transform it, so be brave! A Venus-Neptune opposition coaxes you to let go of illusions and make sure you’re not being a martyr. If you truly want to help people, selflessness means no invisible strings attached. This is a good time to release a relationship that has already ended, in an effort to heal. A ritual can help you to mark this as an official ending.

ScorpioSCORPIO

October 23–November 21

Growth-oriented Jupiter has been lodged in your release corner this year, teaching you to let go and let god — not an easy concept for control-craving Scorpios to embrace. Jupiter wants you to learn how to suspend disbelief; water your faith, not your fears; and surrender to the divine wisdom of the universe. Consider the possibility that there is method in the madness. Now that Jupiter is moving into its final opposition with anarchic Uranus (the first two happened on December 26, 2016 and March 3, 2017), your spiritual journey and your everyday life may seem to be at odds again. A sporadic routine and ever-changing circumstances have made you feel like you don’t have a firm grip on your daily reality, and your work and/or health have probably had their share of ups and downs. You’ve found different ways of getting things done, but the allure of escape is surely a distraction. Your compassion for others and your intuition that we’re all connected is leading you to play with your job description and take on a wider array of responsibilities. Your inner and outer lives don’t feel stable and balanced now, so be very mindful of your mental and physical wellbeing. Avoid going to extremes by taking on too much or blowing everything off. It might be time to ask for help. And it’s definitely time to leave the past in the past, because the future is at your doorstep. Your ruler, Pluto, is getting back in gear after his five-month retrograde phase, which could nudge you out of the groove you’ve been wearing in your brain by obsessing (who, you?) So much has been left unspoken, and you may feel more empowered soon to put your deep thoughts into words. You could also feel ready to make a decision, and Pluto’s meetup with Mars in your network zone hints that teamwork will improve your mindset. Chasing after new goals, acting on your ideals and pursuing new interests can shift your perception for the better. A Venus-Neptune faceoff puts you at risk of romanticizing a friendship or feeling disenchanted with a group, and a reality check may be in order. But a loving gesture could be a beautiful result of this transit, too. Open your heart without closing your eyes.

SagittariusSAGITTARIUS

November 22–December 21

In 2017, your ruling planet’s tour of your network zone has widened the circle of people in your life and inspired you to team up instead of setting off on solo adventures. Your squad is as important to you as ever, and yet your desire for freedom is also undeniable. You can accomplish more when you have a team of support around you, but you still want to be an individual with your own personal interests, creative contributions and a love life of your choosing. Just because you’re happy to be surrounded by people you find stimulating doesn’t mean you’re okay with the idea of no longer standing out as a singular person. This week’s Jupiter-Uranus faceoff is the last of three; the first two took place on December 26, 2016 and March 3, 2017. You may be dating someone unexpected, and your friends haven’t given him or her the stamp of approval. Or perhaps you’re dealing with a messy dilemma that involves heightened emotions among your crew. You can step back and take a break, but don’t sever ties when the planetary energy is this tense. And edit yourself if you start spouting off — no matter how over the top someone else is acting! Pluto is finishing his retrograde, so you could start to feel more in control of your finances or feel your self-esteem coming back to life if it’s waned. Despite your natural glass-half-full outlook, this heavyweight planet has produced some anxiety around stability, security and self-sufficiency. Your resources are changing, and focusing on how you’ll provide for yourself — not if — will help to alleviate worries. A Mars-Pluto collab queues you to take action on a goal. When you act, you’ll reinforce a growing sense of self-empowerment. Mercury and Venus are in your ambition angle, feuding with Saturn and Neptune respectively, so there may be moments when you doubt your ability to succeed. Use these pauses to discipline your thinking, break your plans down into steps and remind yourself that higher-ups are only human. You’ll flourish doing creative work from home — or on your home.

CapricornCAPRICORN

December 22–January 19

Your ambition has been off the charts in 2017, due to Jupiter’s inflationary influence, and you’ve benefited from your zeal to assume a higher profile. Chasing after personal success has been exhilarating, but at times, your family or home life has been an emotionally charged distraction. As much as you may have achieved out in the world lately, achieving a comfortable balance between your professional and personal lives has probably been more of an uphill battle. Your aspirations could have an effect on your living situation (e.g. a job that requires you to relocate), while domestic instability can curtail your pursuit of a goal (perhaps a family member has compelled you to make up for their inconsistent behavior). You prefer order and control, but Jupiter’s oppositions with Uranus — occurring on December 26, 2016; March 3, 2017; and September 27–28, depending on your time zone — have instigated an urge to go off script. You’re tempted to do what you need to do in order to break away from the past and soar into the future you envision. But with all that high flying, you need a cozy nest to return to, and disruptive Uranus hasn’t allowed you to get too comfortable. If you’ve experienced unsettling mood swings, look for insights in your emotional state rather than trying to force it into submission. You may need to unpack old baggage to lighten your load. Avoid hasty decisions and actions now, especially with Pluto resuming forward motion in Capricorn after a five-month retrograde phase. Your identity is transforming, and you’ve burrowed deep underground in order to grapple with this very private process and do some soul-searching. Now, you’ll begin to feel ready to put the wheels in motion, making changes that feel right to you. An alliance between Mars and Pluto endorses taking a risk in the name of personal growth. Pursue new experiences, fight for a noble cause, broaden your mind — such actions can have a profound positive impact on you. If you’re drawn to someone different this week, be careful not to put them on a pedestal. It may take imagination or empathy to see the connection between you and the real person, but it shouldn’t take a blurry lens.

Aquarius

AQUARIUS

January 20–February 18

Jupiter’s expedition through your journeys-and-beliefs corner has led you on a search for more meaning in your life and given you the courage of your convictions. You’re branching out in an effort to learn more about the world, and in the process, you’re becoming a more conscious being. But Jupiter’s faceoffs with Uranus (December 26, 2016; March 3, 2017; and this week) have generated mental strain or disagreements. Resist an impulse to go off on a rant, no matter how right you may be and no matter how well aimed your words may sound to you. There’s so much going on in your head, and you could be worn out from questioning things that you previously took as givens. You might be hopeful about putting the pieces of the puzzle together one minute and going back to the drawing board the next. You can’t account for all the variables to make a decision that sticks, and the pace of your thoughts and your daily life may be agitating you. Take deep breaths! It’s best not to jump to conclusions or speak out until this urgent energy subsides. Pluto is coming out of reverse after five months of backtracking, and that shift will trigger more rumblings in your subconscious. You need peace and quiet to soothe your soul. Work on forgiving others (and yourself!); relinquishing a toxic pattern; addressing a gnawing sense of dread; processing a past loss; and identifying the people who undermine you and the ways you undermine yourself. Mars is in sync with Pluto, dropping hints that boldly facing your demons will pay dividends, in the form of empowering psychological transformation. March into the tunnel of painful emotional turmoil and emerge into the light of healing and rebuilding. If you get close to someone now, it’s bound to be an intense experience, and if you focus on a passion project, you’ll be able to work hard and see it through to the end. But a Venus-Neptune tug-of-war suggests a lack of clarity about what you need—or a fear of what you lack or might lose — will color intimacy. If you’ve given your heart to someone who drains you or causes you to doubt your worth, reevaluate the relationship as it is, not as you wish it would be.

Pisces

PISCES

February 19–March 20

It’s tempting to make a quick decision that affects your finances this week when Jupiter in your sharing sector faces off against Uranus in your resources zone, but you shouldn’t allow yourself to rush into anything. Of course, an unanticipated expense could throw you for a loop, forcing you to cover it somehow. This is the last of three such oppositions (the first two took place on December 26, 2016 and March 3, 2017), so maybe you’ve noticed a theme already. Are you unsure of your ability to ride out financial ups and downs? Have you put your hopes into a partnership to provide security? If you’re anxious about providing for your own needs, it’s natural to look to outside sources such as your significant other’s income, a loan or a tax refund. Thanks to Jupiter’s beneficence, you’ve been able to attain support, but it’s also important to be flexible. Reallocate your resources and shuffle your priorities when necessary; make sure you’re tapping into all your unique talents to boost your earning power; pick yourself back up when your self-esteem dips; tweak your requirements when called for; and allow your personal values to progress. If you’ve been grappling with independence versus codependence, aim for a good balance of self-reliance and sharing. With Pluto powering forward in your network house on the same day, you could start to get a changing friendship or challenging group effort back on track. Team Pisces has been evolving, sometimes painfully, but hopefully you’re figuring out which connections to fight for and which have run their natural course. Move past power struggles, competitive comparisons and gossip. Reconstruct a circle of people who have your back. Mars is joining forces with Pluto, favoring collaborations, especially ones that will help to change the lives of others. There’s tremendous power in shared endeavors, so make them count! A Venus-Neptune opposition attracts you to people whom you view through the lens of your ideals — and vice versa. If you’re harboring illusions about self-sacrifice, saving someone or being rescued, challenge yourself to look at the relationship more clearly. You could enjoy a beautiful romantic, spiritual or emotional experience. Self-awareness will enable you to put it in context.

Aries

ARIES

March 21–April 19

Even if a relationship or collaboration is going really well, your need for autonomy has popped up periodically, due to rebellious Uranus in Aries going toe-to-toe with growth-oriented Jupiter in your partnership angle on December 26, 2016; March 3, 2017; and this week. Jupiter has probably persuaded you to make a commitment, as it’s been showering blessings on that area of your life. You may have recognized that getting serious with someone—or pairing off in your pursuits — has been good for you. But you’re still an independent sign with a very restless planet paying you an extended visit. Too much togetherness or accepting more obligations to others will make you feel fenced in, so take a breather and go off and do your own thing if you want to. Better a break than a breakup now, because you’re likely to regret your haste later. It feels like you need to make a big change, but hold off. There’s also a chance that you’ll jump into a relationship too quickly and wonder what you were thinking soon after. What you’re really questioning is whether you can go down a path with another person and grow as a unit while still maintaining your own identity. You might also be so impatient for things to be different that you’re looking to other people to be catalysts for change — and that interdependence makes you uneasy. Don’t run for the hills! Pluto is doing a U-turn in your ambition angle after five months off the grid, creating tremors in your career or life direction. You’ve been struggling to find your way, and it may seem like more options are closing off than opening up. But if you pay close attention to the evolution of your goals and understand that you can’t go back but can only move forward, you’ll be able to align yourself with the slow shift that’s taking place. Thanks to a Mars-Pluto alliance, diligent labor will get you back on track and make you feel more in control of your destiny. You also need to feel like you’re being useful and creative, so let your imagination and the spirit of service inform your work.

Taurus

TAURUS

April 20–May 20

Although you crave stability and aren’t big on change, with devil-may-care Uranus sneaking around in your subliminal corner, there’s a small part of you that wouldn’t mind if everything didn’t go exactly according to plan. Thanks to no-boundaries Jupiter in your productivity zone throughout 2017, you’re juggling a ton of tasks and may daydream of getting off the hamster wheel to pursue alternative interests — or just rest! You’re doing, doing, doing and could use a break to just be. The last of three Jupiter-Uranus oppositions occurs this week (the first two were on December 26, 2016 and March 3, 2017), and you might feel stressed enough to quit your job or stubborn enough (an infamous Bull characteristic!) to keep going until you burn out. Treat this faceoff like a wellness wake-up call and strive for better mind-body-spirit balance. Take an honest look at any loss of concentration or compulsive behavior and ask yourself what it’s really about. Honor the signals your body sends you. Are all those espresso shots you rely on to keep you going throughout the day keeping you from getting a good night’s sleep? Try a few revitalizing yoga poses as an afternoon pick-me-up. Does your back hurt from hunching over a computer? Use a standing desk or get up and walk around for a few minutes every hour. You get the idea: A lifestyle makeover would be right on time! Pluto is getting back up to speed after five months of backspinning in your perspective house, so the big picture will begin to fall back into place. If you’ve had a crisis of faith or feel like you’ve lost the thread, you’ll become bolder about putting something on the line in order to have powerful learning experiences. Mars in your joie de vivre sector is vibing with Pluto, prompting you to go after what makes you happy and get yourself back in the swing of things. Expressing yourself confidently — especially if the point is to bring about change in the world — will be totally worth it. Venus-Neptune discord hints at the possibility of romanticizing a friendship or trouble aligning personal pleasure and group interests. Tap into your practical nature, and brush illusions aside.

Gemini

GEMINI

May 21–June 20

Your love life and social life may not be drama-free zones when over-the-top Jupiter goes head-to-head with unpredictable Uranus this week. Don’t make any sudden moves because this faceoff tends to spark extremist impulses. That’s because both these planets are ready to go out on a limb and shake things up in the name of freedom. You’re on a quest for personal fulfillment and may get an itch to rebel against group pressures in order to express who you are. You might draw a line in the sand with friends over a romantic relationship or identify with a different set of people due to the fact that your interests are changing. Maybe your patience for others’ quirks and foibles has worn thin. You want the latitude to choose your own lovers and squad and might do something drastic to assert that right. Or you could pull away from someone if you rushed into a friendship or affair. Unreliable pals might drive you to do as you please and not worry about how it affects others. Given your need for variety and stimulation, is it possible that the on-and-off relationships, hot-and-cold feelings and up-and-down group dynamics are partly your own doing? Are you rocking the boat to keep boredom at bay? Do you want to be able to drop in and out of people’s lives but still expect them to be your rock? Moderate rebalancing between personal and social spheres can calm your nervous energy for now. Make sure you’re giving people the same liberty you require, and don’t swing at curveballs. Pluto is plowing forward after a five-month retrograde spell, bringing issues around intimacy, trust, sharing, investing and merging into clearer focus. A close relationship, contract, loan or collaboration should come out of limbo and start to move ahead, but probably with some needed alterations. Thanks to a Mars-Pluto convo, working on your home, partnering with — or confronting — a family member, facing the past or dealing with your hidden anger can all lead to serious transformation. Venus’s faceoff with Neptune warns against putting authority figures on a pedestal and entertaining thoughts of effortless success. Make peace with where you are at this moment in your life without losing sight of higher aspirations.

Cancer

CANCER

June 21–July 22

With too-much-is-never-enough Jupiter camped out in your family-and-home angle this year, you may have said yes to everything in an effort to be a good daughter, model mother or caretaker to your squad. This is the part of the chart that’s naturally associated with Cancerian matters, so chances are you’ve been happy to help. Your living situation may also be overwhelming you — for instance, if you’re planning a big move or letting too many people crash on your couch. Jupiter is dueling with Uranus for the third and final time (they went at it on December 26, 2016 and March 3, 2017), pulling you between your personal and professional lives until you feel ready to snap. If you have too many balls in the air, go ahead and drop one or two, but don’t send them all sailing. Ask for help, and also step up your self-care routine. (If you don’t have one, there’s no time like the present!) You could be put in the middle of a parental conflict, in which case you shouldn’t feel compelled to pick sides. You need peace and quiet and a cozy nest to relax in. Sudden developments in the outside world or family drama will tempt you to hide under the covers, but don’t go to extremes. Resist urges to rebel against authority and to jump off your career path when it takes an unexpected turn. Don’t shy away from setting challenging goals; just stay flexible if the road to achieving them doesn’t look exactly like you thought it would. Pluto is finishing up his five-month retrograde period, which could regenerate a relationship, help you to see the way forward with someone or enable you to shift the dynamic between you and others. Are you giving too much power away or projecting your most vexing qualities onto people? Mars is gelling with Pluto now, so frame your thinking in terms of what you can do to change things in your relationships, and initiate an honest, direct dialogue about it. Venus’s tango with Neptune alludes to a yearning for escape, and you might make more of a conversation or encounter than it merits. But a natural, empathic connection or transcendent aesthetic, cultural or spiritual experience is possible during this transit.

Leo

LEO

July 23–August 22

This week features the final faceoff between Jupiter in your thinking-and-talking corner and Uranus in your journeys-and-beliefs house. The first two happened on December 26, 2016 and March 3, 2017, and you may have already noted the themes they’ve presented. Thanks to Jupiter, you’re expressing yourself more freely, connecting with a wider range of people and maintaining an open mind, while Uranus has prodded you to get out of your comfort zone, continue to learn about the world and get excited over new experiences and ideas in the name of progress. That’s all good, but the tension between these two highflyers can overstimulate you, filling you with nervous energy. You’ll be tempted to make a snap decision, get up on your soapbox or set off on a wild goose chase. Before you blurt out anything that begins with “No offense, but…” or ends with “Just saying,” hit mute! Reread what you wrote before sending or posting, and maybe even sleep on it. If your brain is on overload, try stream-of-consciousness writing just for yourself. You may feel like exercising your right to free speech, but remember that others have the same right. You could get into a war of words if you’re not careful. Take the high road, no matter how lonely it is up there! It might seem like the rules in the game of life keep changing, and you could be itching to make a bold move to keep up. A Mars-Pluto collab gives you a productive outlet for that impetus. Pluto is edging ahead after five months in reverse, helping you to feel more in control of your daily life. Changes in your health, your job or your routine have seemed to be out of your hands, and now you’ll have a better sense of how to improve your quality of life and your wellbeing. Stress may be sapping your vitality, and you need to listen to what your body is telling you. It’s the vehicle that carries you through life, so treat it with great care. Take action that shows you value yourself. You might also demonstrate an aptitude that allows you to do different work than you’ve been doing. Tap into your talents!

VirgoVIRGO

August 23–September 22

You might find communication with family or someone close to you difficult this week when Mercury in Virgo skirmishes with Saturn and Uranus. Pull your thoughts together before you speak, and give someone space if they need it. Venus in Virgo is facing off with Neptune, suggesting that deception or illusion could play a role in attraction. Take off the rose-colored glasses if someone appears too good to be true and use your discerning judgment. You should also be careful not to sacrifice too much in an effort to hold onto someone. An artistic or spiritual connection is favored under this influence. Avoid reckless spending when excessive Jupiter locks into the last of three oppositions with shoot-from-the-hip Uranus (this cycle dates back to December 26, 2016 and March 3, 2017). You might be tempted to back out of a deal or pull away from someone — or another person may suddenly give you the cold shoulder. You’re learning to provide for yourself and feeling optimistic about growing your finances and/or your resources, and your self-esteem is in a good place. With extra emphasis being placed on your needs, the idea of counting on outside resources or trusting someone enough to pool your resources might not seem like a safe bet. Mine and ours are at odds, as your quest for security could be threatened by the variables that others introduce. A thirst for independence may drive you to only want to invest in yourself. Maybe you don’t need someone as much as you used to, and there’s friction between you as a result of this changing dynamic. Sharing can be much dicier than making do on your own, but oppositions are all about finding the right balance! Pluto does an about-face after five months of backtracking, pushing your feelings to the surface. Drama might arise in your personal life, and you’d do well to wait it out rather than reacting. A romantic connection, a physical attraction, your creative expression, your relationship with a child or the ways you find joy in your life are undergoing a course correction. Mars in Virgo is in sync with Pluto, indicating you have the power to do something that will transform this part of your life for the better.

Can you remember the moment you realized you were, at heart, a dancer? For as long as I could remember I was in love with ballet. My first performance with a professional company was when I a trainee, I was performing the dryad scene in Don Quixote. And I was last off stage. Do you have any go-to stretches/exercises to warm up/cool down your day? For warm up I do Pilates. I do planks to warm up my core. Bridges for my flutes and hamstrings, and clam shells for my turn out. My fave stretches are the splits, lunges for my psoas, and down dog.
Go-to beauty tips: Always wash your face at night. All-natural products are healthier for your delicate skin. Always moisturize!
Favorite song you’ve ever danced to: The Serenade by George Balanchine contains the most beautiful score by Tchaikovsky.
5 words that describe how dancing makes you feel. Beautiful, happy, peaceful, brave, empowered.
Have you ever gone to the ballet just to watch? I always watch ballet. When it’s theater week and my cast isn’t dancing I watch from the audience.
5 favorite things about Washington DC:
I love Amsterdam Falafel shop on 18th street
18th Street Lounge is always a cool place to go — great variety of people and music.
Anything at the Kennedy Center. Arts is enriching and vital to be my existence. Its give you context.
I love Georgetown. So colonial and cute!! With lots of cool shops!

Your Macro Inspired Daily Meal Plan

Your Macro Inspired Daily Meal Plan

Forget about counting calories…learn to understand the KIND of food that you’re putting in your body — the way you feel afterward might really amaze you…

Not to be confused with macrobiotic eating (which is also extremely beneficial to those who practice it), macro is essentially an approach to eating that focuses on carbohydrates, fats and proteins, and their distribution throughout your daily meal plan.

Macro “dieting” utilizes the following guideline for meal consideration:

1 gram of carbohydrates = 4 calories

1 gram of fat = 9 calories

1 gram of protein = 4 calories

The goal? Creating a menu that, by the end of the day, equals 100% of a mix of these 3 categories of macronutrients. This ratio will shift depending on your goal…whether it be to lose weight, boost metabolism or simply make better-informed eating habits. Here, our resident Chef Greg has prepared a series of 5 meals — breakfast, lunch and dinner, broken up by 2 snacks — that will ensure a day complete with a thoughtful and healthy mix of macros, and hopefully more energy, to boot. Note: there are LOTS of app options to help you keep track of your macros. We like this one, but feel free to do your research to determine which might work best for you!

Breakfast

Cottage Cheese Pick-Me-Up

 Ingredients
(makes 1 portion)
3/4 cup low-fat organic cottage cheese
1/4 cup organic strawberries
1/4 cup grapefruit segments
3 tbsp roasted pumpkin seeds, lightly salted
Method
Scoop cottage cheese into a dish and arrange strawberries and grapefruit on top. Top with toasted pumpkin seeds. NOTE: recipe is for one portion but can also be portioned out for 3 days at a time. This is also delicious with cantaloupe, raspberries and toasted almonds.

 Ingredients

3 cups chopped kale
3 cups baby spinach
1 chopped banana
1 chopped mango
1 cup chopped pineapple
1/2 cup almond butter
2 cups coconut water

Place all ingredients in a blender and purée until very smooth. You can adjust the amount of coconut water depending on the consistency you enjoy. You can also add flax seeds, hemp seeds or protein powder, depending on your individual needs.

Lunch

Mixed Leaf Salad

 Ingredients
(makes 3 portions)
3/4 # Mixed Lettuce
1 1/2 cups shaved carrots

1 1/2 cups sprouts
Toasted almonds
3 tbsp brown rice miso
1/4 cup brown rice vinegar

1 1/2 cups red quinoa
1/2 cup organic coconut cream

1/2 cup dried Goji berries
1/4 cup toasted coconut
1 pinch Pink Himalayan sea salt
Method
Cook quinoa in water according to package directions. Drain off excess water. Fold in coconut cream (thick part of coconut milk). Season with a pinch of Pink Himalayan salt. Place in serving container and top with blueberries, Goji berries and toasted coconut.

Dinner

Roasted Cauliflower Steak

 Ingredients
(makes 3 portions)
1 head cauliflower
1 large sweet potato (or 2 small)
1 can chickpeas
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 Lemon
1/4 cup parsley, Chopped
Pink Himalayan sea salt
Pepper
Method
Place sweet potatoes in a 350 degree oven on a sheet tray or in a oven-proof dish. Bake for 45 minutes or until tender.  Let cool for a few minutes and peel. Place in a bowl and mash with a fork.  Season with salt.  Cut Cauliflower in Steak Portions. Easiest way is to cut a 2″ thick cross section slice on both sides of core. Steam Cauliflower until tender about 5 minutes. If you don’t have a steamer you can boil in salted water. Next, sear cauliflower in a hot pan till charred and golden brown. Season with salt and pepper. Also, zest some lemon on top. Next, heat a can of drained chickpeas in a sauté pan. Season with salt, pepper and a squeeze of lemon juice. You can also add some chopped parsley to chick peas.  Now, you are ready to plate up 3 portions!

VirgoVIRGO

August 23–September 22

Getting past your inhibitions can bring a rush of closeness this week when Venus in your release corner embraces Uranus in your intimacy zone. Divulging a secret will feel liberating, and if you’re alone, wandering around in your own imagination can elicit an a-ha! moment. Either way, getting closer to another person or to your own truth requires you to surrender control and go with the flow — which isn’t always your style. Venus sails into Virgo next, upping your charisma and drawing people to you like a moth to a flame. You’ll start to feel more like dressing up and going out, as this planet puts a big emphasis on beauty and socializing. Your annual Virgo New Moon represents a fresh start that favors a definitive break with the past. What personal reinvention or project launch could you see flourishing in the next six months? Plant the seeds! But be careful who you share your intentions with, as Uranus (in the form of an individual) might throw a wrench in your plans. Mercury and Mars are already in your sign and facing off against Neptune at the moment, so even though you’re on your game, other people may wear you out, guilt-trip you or leave you scratching your head. Considering the number of planets parading through Virgo, it’s normal for you to be extra focused on yourself. Compromise is usually the best strategy with oppositions, but it may be hard to meet someone halfway if you don’t understand where they’re coming from. If you can speak or act based on empathy and compassion, go ahead and engage. A Mercury-Pluto confab might trigger a heart-to-heart, intense flirting or deep introspection, and it’s also perfect for creative writing or losing yourself in a wonderful book. The sun’s move into Libra marks the end of your birthday season and encourages you to get down to brass tacks. Give some attention to your finances and possessions, asking yourself what you need and what’s most valuable to you. This is the time of year to get your priorities straight.

LibraLIBRA

September 23–October 22

Your ruling planet in your group zone sets off sparks with you-never-know Uranus in your one-on-one angle this week, which could set off romantic sparks between you and a platonic pal. Another likely scenario: You’ll meet someone new through people you already know. So if you’re looking for love, look no further than the circle of friends, acquaintances and colleagues that’s already in your life. If you’re joined at the hip with your significant other, circle Monday the 18th on your calendar and plan an epic GNO. As the week progresses, Mercury and Mars in your retreat corner face off with Neptune. You might feel like you’re drowning in work and need more time by yourself to decompress. Don’t expect everything to come together on the job or in your daily routine. Schedule R&R when you need to catch your breath, and work from home if possible. Projects that require imagination and intuition will be especially fruitful, and you might also do something selfless behind the scenes that serves a noble purpose. Merc is syncing with Pluto in your foundation angle, alluding to the need for deep reflection before your birthday season begins. Resolving emotional turbulence and getting closure on the past will help you start your new year with a clean slate. This week’s new moon lands in the last house of your chart, marking an ending that ushers in a beginning. Listen to your intuition regarding what — or whom — you need to leave behind. Honor the signs that are trying to tell you whether you’re on the right path or not. Another person is likely to be a catalyst for change, since this lunation is jostling with Uranus in your one-on-one angle. Some kind of sacrifice may be called for, but make sure it’s a healthy one with no codependent strings attached. Once the sun barrels into Libra for its month-long stay, you’ll have an easier time putting yourself first. This is the season for doing you! Happy solar return!

ScorpioSCORPIO

October 23–November 21

Be open to new ways of accomplishing what you want to this week when Venus in your ambition angle makes music with change-loving Uranus in your productivity corner. The more flexible you are in your approach to goals, the more likely you are to earn rave reviews. Be spontaneous, not stubborn, and you’ll polish your public image or create favorable circumstances in your career. Venus cruises into your network zone next, putting you in the mood to mingle. You generally prefer quality one-on-one time, but large gatherings are about to become your jam. You might meet a prospective mate through friends or dating apps or opt to play the field instead of holding out for a soulmate. Attached Scorps will enjoy going to parties with your partner and hanging with mutual friends or giving each other more space (not too much though — you’re still the most jealous sign of the zodiac!) Mercury and Mars are also charging through your network zone, and they’re moving into oppositions with Neptune now. You’re in teamplayer-mode, but the temptation to escape into personal pleasures — or uncertainty about having what your heart wants — could make it difficult to go along with the group. Make a concerted effort not to romanticize anyone. If you’re harboring a rescue fantasy, remember that Scorpio has tremendous power. You don’t need someone to slay the dragons for you. Merc’s vibe with Pluto hints that a deep convo with friends will help you get to the bottom of anything that’s bothering you, so bare your soul with people you can trust. The new moon invites you to kick off a collaboration, join an organization, connect with fresh contacts, make a friend and become more involved in technology somehow. Just be sure you can meet your obligations and aren’t overlooking key details. The sun’s arrival in your last house means your year is winding down and you’re due to retreat from the world to reflect, release and recharge. Do some soul-searching, make peace with the past and let go of what no longer serves you.

SagittariusSAGITTARIUS

November 22–December 21

A happy encounter between Venus and Uranus this week can inspire you to date outside your comfort zone if you’re single and enjoy a trip or new experience with your significant other if you’re in a relationship. You might be drawn to someone unexpectedly. Hint: Uranus is in favor of spontaneously saying yes to anything and anyone that will push the envelope. This planetary combo is all about indulging in liberating pleasures! Soon after, Venus pirouettes to the peak of your chart, luring you to focus on your PR. Turn on the charm around people who can help you get where you want to go because higher-ups are inclined to see the best in you now. Mercury and Mars are activating your ambition angle, so you’re on a quest to achieve your goals. With gameplans on your mind and the drive to execute them, you’re a force to be reckoned with. But due to faceoffs with Neptune, you might have trouble with life/work balance. Maybe your family or roomie needs you, and you can’t pull yourself away from loftier responsibilities. Or part of you might be longing to curl up on the couch and put your phone on airplane mode. Power down by taking a relaxing aromatherapy bath or dancing around the house to music that transports you (yes, that counts as a self-care ritual!) Then rise and grind after a good night’s sleep. Mercury’s sync-up with Pluto prompts you to keep your eye on the prize of setting goals that pump up your self-worth and your bank balance. Dig deep into your treasure trove of talents when crafting your objectives. The new moon symbolizes a fresh chapter in your professional path or life direction that requires you to define your priorities, stay focused and keep your shoulder to the wheel. A promotion or leadership role may be in the works. After the sun skips into your hopes-and-humanity zone, part of your energy will be geared toward networking, socializing, collaborating and connecting with people who share your interests and dreams.

CapricornCAPRICORN

December 22–January 19

Dare to share your private feelings with someone this week when relationship-oriented Venus makes magic with revelatory Uranus. Don’t hide who you are. You need to open up in order to feel understood. Sex is likely to be an emotionally revealing experience, making it extra important to trust the person you’re with. If you don’t have a partner, carve out alone time for introspection or talk to a person who’s known you forever. The goal is to know yourself better and to get out of an old emotional pattern that’s stunting your growth. After Venus sashays into your exploration corner, your mood will lighten and you might find yourself drawn to people and places you hadn’t considered before. Take risks in your love life, perhaps by making the first move, dating someone who’s very different from you or doing something unusually adventurous with your mate if you’re in a relationship. Opt for rock-climbing over dinner and a movie, or head off on an impromptu weekend getaway. Mercury and Mars are already in that part of your chart and going toe-to-toe with Neptune currently. You’re thinking big and speaking your mind but may not have enough clarity to fill in all the blanks in a grand scheme. If you’re wavering, don’t bluff. Heed your gut instincts and wait until the fog has cleared. It’s okay not to have all the answers! Better to admit you’re not sure than to deceive yourself or others. Mercury is clicking with Pluto, which should help you fit the pieces of the puzzle together and find deep meaning in new knowledge and experiences. Everything you learn now can feed into the personal transformation you’re undergoing. The new moon pushes you to take a leap of faith and start making your vision of the future a reality. Book a trip, sign up for a class or fight for a cause you believe in. If it feels a little scary, you’re on the right track. Once the sun ascends to your ambition angle, you’ll be back in your element, focusing on achieving your goals and methodically plotting long-term success.

Aquarius

AQUARIUS

January 20–February 18

An attraction might take you by surprise this week when Venus in your partnership angle vibes with unpredictable Uranus. You could see a person you already know in a different light or meet someone new. A friend, neighbor or sibling might be involved in this scenario, perhaps by making introductions. Couples can come to an understanding after an honest conversation that reveals previously unspoken truths, and it will feel good to get things out in the open. Once Venus segues into your depth-and-merging zone, your desire for closeness is bound to heat up, and private, intense connections will feel essential. Your sign often prefers group socializing and relationships that allow for plenty of independence, but intimacy is the name of the game now, so bond with your significant other or best friend one-on-one. Since lusty Mars is touring this house as well, sex may be on the menu. But if you’re flying solo, diving into a passion project or investigation will also be gratifying. Mercury’s presence there coaxes you to confide in someone you trust or process difficult feelings that need to shift. Mercury’s meeting with Pluto hints that digging deep into your psyche will help you to heal. With Merc and Mars facing off against Neptune, fears about what you lack or what you stand to lose can trigger a conflict, or a power imbalance could upset your own equilibrium. Jealousy, possessiveness and competitiveness may become problems now. Pushing to get more than you’re getting from another person or stressing over what someone else has isn’t the way to go. You need to believe deep down in your soul that you’re enough and can get what you need for yourself. This week’s new moon alludes to a new sexual relationship, joint venture, grant, loan or major transformation in the pipeline. Don’t make hasty decisions, because interference from Uranus might mean you don’t have your facts straight. After the sun blazes into your expansion sector, you’ll get inspired to branch out and look to the future. Channel this energy burst into learning, travel and the pursuit of exciting new experiences.

Pisces

PISCES

February 19–March 20

You could tap into a new talent this week while working on a creative project, thanks to a harmonious trine between Venus and Uranus. Or a coworker might appreciate the unique contribution that you make to the team. Getting along with your colleagues and enjoying what you’re doing will make you feel good and might make a difference in your earning power. You could end up taking a gig that doesn’t pay as much as you wanted for the chance to work with people you like or work on something fun. Venus crosses your one-on-one angle next, making it even easier to maintain peaceful relations and compromise when called for. You might feel more affectionate with a romantic partner or more agreeable with a business partner. Mercury is already buzzing through that house, encouraging you to keep the lines of communication open, negotiate and air grievances. And Mars is blasting through as well, making shared activities preferable to solo ones. Arguments are to be expected, but Mars is there to help you be more assertive in your relationships. If you’re happily single, recruiting a pal to join you on adventures will keep you fired up. Both Merc and Mars are opposing Neptune, so you might feel provoked to act right when you’re waffling in indecision or insecurity. Or maybe you’re not seeing yourself clearly and you’re projecting your own qualities onto another person. Don’t give in to despair or guilt. You need space to tune into your feelings. Boundaries are important for everyone, but they’re absolutely vital for your permeable sign. The new moon suggests a new partnership or new level of commitment in an existing relationship may be imminent. If you feel unsure of yourself or suspect you might not get what you need from someone, don’t rush things. Whether you’re single or attached, this is a great lunation for taking a fresh approach to relating. After the sun dives into your depth zone, your energy will become more all-or-nothing, as you home in on a close relationship or passion project. Give yourself permission to obsess a little over someone or something worth your while.

Aries

ARIES

March 21–April 19

Surprise your bae this week when Venus flirts with carefree Uranus, inspiring generosity, affection, romance, creativity and play. On the flipside, an attraction or fun experience could come to you out of the blue, bringing a dose of excitement. You need to shake things up, so avoid the same old same old at all costs and enjoy life in an unexpected way. Anything from a creative endeavor to a crush will get your juices flowing. Soon after, Venus slips into your efficiency corner, favoring wellness and productivity. Perfect time to work on a relationship, practice better self-care, beautify your workspace and get healthy and fit with companions (for instance, running with your roomie or doing a cleanse as a couple). Mercury and Mars are already ensconced in that house, nudging you to get organized and take on your to-do list with your proverbial vim and vigor. You might get fired up to learn a new skill, sink your teeth into a challenging project or attack a problem with all your brainpower and drive. Both planets are opposing Neptune, so you’re bound to lose steam at some point and should give yourself a chance to rest — or just digress into a daydream. You can’t do it all in one go, but don’t throw the towel in. Get back at it later with renewed enthusiasm. Merc’s link with Pluto points to detailed career planning or progress with intellectual work. If you focus, you may be able to deconstruct the gradual evolution of your professional path or overall life direction. A new moon prompts you to adopt a healthy habit, revamp your schedule, start a fitness regimen, change your diet, launch a job search, make medical appointments and fine-tune your time management. An awkward angle between Uranus and the moon reminds you that although you’re meant to be getting your ducks in a row, you still need to allow for a bit of freedom in your routine. Once the sun glides over your one-on-one angle, you’ll devote more energy to relationships and will probably feel less of a need for autonomy. You’ll draw strength from those closest to you, so reach out!

Taurus

TAURUS

April 20–May 20

Get unstuck from lingering emotions and revel in a new sense of liberation when pleasant Venus in your foundation angle embraces freedom-loving Uranus in your release corner this week. Is it time to let go of an old love or become more independent from your family? You can do this! If you’re in a relationship, revealing private thoughts and personal secrets can bring a rush of closeness. Next, Venus skips into your joy sector, helping you to draw in what — and whom — you desire. This planetary placement signals that you need to lead with your heart and live in the moment. If there’s a creative project, hobby, fun activity or crush that you haven’t let yourself focus on, now’s your chance. Mercury and Mars are also charging through that house, shining a big spotlight on love and happiness. Reading for pleasure, pursuing the person you fancy, playing board games — whatever amuses you, go for it! Merc and Mars both have faceoffs with Neptune in your group zone this week, so you may get confusing feedback from your squad. You might find it difficult to say and do what pleases you and still get along swimmingly with a group. Or a friend in need could keep you from whatever pleasures you’d planned for yourself. If compromise doesn’t look likely, march to your own beat without reacting to peer pressure. Thanks to a Mercury-Pluto meetup, you might take a life-changing trip, read something that shifts your worldview, or play around with a daunting intellectual task and have a breakthrough. And if you find the courage to share your feelings, you’ll surely learn from the experience. A new moon may usher in fresh romance, a new source of pleasure or a different means of expressing your creativity, personality or feelings. Subliminal impulses and a repressed rebellious streak can cause you to jump in too fast, so take note of potential self-undoing. After the sun ducks into your productivity corner, you’ll start juggling work and play. Health, diet, exercise, and daily responsibilities assume added importance, while instant gratification will take a backseat at times.

Gemini

GEMINI

May 21–June 20

Thanks to an encounter between Venus in your communication house and Uranus in your network sector this week, your best bets for meeting new people are large gatherings, technology, friends and the circle of people you already know. So start swiping, mingling and working your contacts if you’re interested in making a match. Already paired off? You might spend time as a couple with mutual friends or give each other space to hang out with your respective squads. A frank dialogue or a pleasant feeling of camaraderie between you could come out of nowhere to stimulate your connection. With Venus dipping down into your domestic angle next, where several planets are currently taking the grand tour, you may go into full-on nesting mode if you’re not there already. Relax with your fam or roomie, watch the new fall shows, spruce up your place, discover your inner chef, baker or bartender and share the results or just sink into your sofa or bed for a decadent stretch of time. The presence of Mercury and Mars suggests you might work from home, sort through photos or mementos, confide in a parent, think about moving, plan a renovation, purge some possessions or unpack emotional baggage and try to move on from the past. Since both these planets are dueling with Neptune, you could get into a bewildering situation with a parent, boss or other authority figure and become irritable if it seems like you’re spinning your wheels. Not knowing where you’re headed can be exciting, but it can also generate angst, and you may need to do something to make yourself feel more centered and grounded. A Mercury-Pluto convo coaxes you to get to the bottom of how you’re feeling by talking to someone you trust, journaling or carving out time for deep reflection. This week’s new moon may indicate a coming change in your family or living situation, or you might turn the page emotionally and move away from your backstory. Once the sun hits your joy sector, you’ll have more interest in going out and having a good time, and your vivacious personality will shine through freely.

Cancer

CANCER

June 21–July 22

With Venus in your resources house cozying up to Uranus in your ambition angle this week, you might want to set some financial targets or consider tweaking your career path in the interest of providing for yourself. You can also give your self-esteem a boost by showing off a distinctive talent or making progress toward a goal. If you’re in a relationship, you might have a conversation about values and where you see things heading. Unattached Crabs may meet someone worth dating at a professional function, so don’t duck out early! Venus sashays into your thinking-and-talking sector next, making you less shy about telling or showing someone how you feel. You’ll feel flirtier than usual and eager to see the good in people. Day trips, dialogue and learning together will help relationships gel, while beautifying your community and socializing with neighbors or siblings might lead you to a new love interest. Mercury and Mars are already zipping through that house, piquing your curiosity, energizing your interactions, prodding you to assert yourself and putting you in information-gathering (and possibly voracious-reading) mode. Your mind is moving quickly, and you have a taste for variety. You’ll probably get into some heated discussions, especially when Merc and Mars face off with Neptune in your perspective corner. Politics and religion will be even thornier topics than usual, as will ethics and personal beliefs. Make sure you have your facts straight, and do your best to empathize with someone else’s point of view. You won’t go wrong if you say and do things that are honest and true. Let pure-hearted spiritual values and a yearning for justice steer you. Seek answers. Connect local and global. The new moon pushes you to learn, speak up, take an interest in your community, hatch new ideas and find a different way of getting your message across. After the sun sneaks down to the base of your chart, you’ll be more focused on home and family. You might start craving downtime and creature comforts like delicious food and a cozy bed, so put chillax on your calendar periodically.

Leo

LEO

July 23–August 22

You’re effortlessly magnetic these days, with charming Venus swaying through your sign. Her exciting rendezvous with Uranus this week may inspire you to try something new and perhaps draw even more attention to yourself. You might be attracted to someone unexpected, flirt with a variety of people, show a different side of yourself and enjoy an impromptu eye-opening experience. You’ll be enticed by uniqueness in others, and vice versa. Next, Venus dances into your worth zone, giving you a taste for stability, security and nice things. Your spending could surge, but you might also bring in more money, since this is a period of easy come, easy go. Mercury and Mars are already marching through that house, so you have finances, possessions, personal values and needs on your mind and are motivated to act on those thoughts. You might want to review your expenses and put a budget in place. You’re ready and willing to learn what you need to know and do what you need to do to improve your bottom line. Both planets are going toe-to-toe with Neptune, which could indicate a dubious proposition. Outside resources like a loan may not materialize, or you might feel like someone isn’t there for you when you need them. Focus on empowering yourself to be self-reliant, and have a more Zen attitude about what you’ll get from others. Your spiritual values can guide you to find the best balance of give-and-take. Taking your ego out of the equation is key. Merc’s harmony with Pluto tells you to consider your talents carefully and be sure you’re making full use of them to enrich your work and deepen your sense of purpose. And the new moon reminds you to simplify your life and stop and smell the roses (or whatever is blooming at the moment in your neck of the woods)! Prioritize with the goal of being able to provide for yourself, and trim whatever waste you can identify. With the sun moving into your thinking-and-talking corner, your brain and daily life are about to get a whole lot busier. Pour energy into learning, connecting with people and expressing your thoughts.

VirgoVIRGO

August 23–September 22

It’s worth it to let your guard down with someone this week when Venus in your release corner harmonizes with Saturn in your foundation angle. You could end up taking care of a loved one — possibly a family member or roomie — blending your trademark reliability (a highly underrated quality!) with a sweet dose of compassion. Emotional nakedness might leave you feeling safe and secure, not scared and vulnerable, so overcome the fear of letting go. Speaking of letting go, shutting the door on a previous relationship will give you much-needed closure, drawing a line between your past and your present. Plus, thanks to a Venus-Jupiter link, you’ll feel better about yourself when you loosen your grip and love those who deserve it with abandon — in the here and now. A sun-Saturn skirmish implies private insecurities could keep you from letting your full personality shine through. Don’t let your backstory, self-doubt, your family or a sobering mood dull your light. You can aspire to improve yourself, but you should also keep working on understanding and accepting yourself as you are. With Mercury and Mars coalescing in Virgo, you can easily do as you say and say as you do. Back up your ideas with action, throw yourself into an intellectual task on your agenda or present your position with passion. You might come across as spoiling for a fight, though, so keep touchiness and recklessness in check.

LibraLIBRA

September 23–October 22

Your ruler has an important encounter with Saturn this week, which should make it easy for you to network, socialize and come to an understanding with a group. Being around people isn’t just about having fun when serious Saturn is involved. You’re meant to learn from others, make valuable contacts, form lasting connections, express yourself honestly and discuss weighty matters. If you’ve been dragging your heels because you’re afraid that the big talk you need to have with a friend will be too uncomfortable, bite the bullet. Venus also happens to be playing nice with Jupiter in Libra, adding a stroke of luck to the mix. Your enthusiasm is contagious, and friendship flows freely both ways. Your best opportunities come through other people now, and you’re also inclined to be generous with others. With the sun, Mercury and Mars hiding out at the end of your chart, you’ll also need some alone time. You can accomplish tons on your own behind the scenes, especially if you have things to finish up. But given the subliminal nature of the last house, you could send mixed messages, blurt out something unintentionally or act against your own best interests. So keep an eye on those subconscious motives and urges!

ScorpioSCORPIO

October 23–November 21

Success isn’t all about putting your nose to the grindstone. There are times when you need to promote yourself, look the part, attract the right people and circumstances, and show creative flair. With Venus in your ambition angle presenting a united front with Saturn in your value sector this week, this is clearly one of those times. Good PR will strengthen your conviction that you can grow to be self-sufficient. Make sure to use your resources wisely — including everything from an advantageous contact to a latent talent. Venus is also in sync with Jupiter, hinting that inner faith is your best ally. You need to believe deep down that you have something to offer the world. The sun in your network zone is sparring with Saturn, so you might get stuck when trying to move on to the next big item on your list of hopes and dreams. Take everything one step at a time rather than jumping ahead in your mind. You’ll find it hard to be a team player if you’re concerned with holding onto what you have or getting what you need. A Mercury-Mars conjunction means group activities will be buzzing with energy. The potential for heated disagreements exists, but you can also make tons of progress as a team if you all choose your battles. Communication will be highly charged, so keep it civil.

SagittariusSAGITTARIUS

November 22–December 21

Saturn in Sag is in cahoots with Venus in your exploration corner this week, nudging you to broaden your horizons very deliberately. Make a point of dating someone you’d normally swipe left on, visiting a place you’ve never been or sampling an unfamiliar pleasure (chilled red wine on a September night — yes please!) Thanks to Saturn’s stabilizing influence, following a whim won’t be at all risky, so coloring outside the lines gets a big thumbs-up. Plus a Venus-Jupiter alliance points to the idea of friends making everything more fun, so whatever you have in mind, rally the troops! The sun in your ambition angle is out of sync with Saturn, though, suggesting you might stop yourself from shining. If you don’t feel ready for success, what can you do to get ready? It makes sense to put all the pieces in place before stepping into the spotlight; make contingency plans in case something doesn’t go your way; and gain whatever qualifications you need for the position you’re after. Mercury and Mars are joining forces at the top of your chart, providing incentive to chase after the knowledge and experience you need to reach your goals. Watch what you say and do around authority figures because this planetary pairing can cause you to come on like gangbusters.

CapricornCAPRICORN

December 22–January 19

With affectionate Venus dallying in your depth zone, you’re craving closeness these days. Her flirtation with Saturn this week coaxes you to overcome private hangups or close the book on an old relationship in order to enjoy an intimate connection with a partner or friend. Self-love can also be a theme with this planetary configuration. In case you need a reminder now: Guilt doesn’t serve anyone. Stop beating yourself up for the mistakes you’ve made. The universe wants you to let go of whatever is burdening your soul and welcome more love into your life! Venus is also on the same page with Jupiter, reinforcing the fact that self-acceptance and healthy bonds will give you the boost you need to achieve your aspirations. If you’re in a serious relationship, you’ll feel like it’s headed in a positive direction now. The sun is squabbling with your ruling planet, pitting your enthusiasm for branching out and trying different things against lingering doubts. You may need to wrap up old business before breaking new ground, but don’t let your infamous skepticism cause you to give up. You might take a calculated risk rather than going for broke. A Mercury-Mars alliance can help you to fight for truth or justice or take on a major intellectual challenge, but it can also provoke you to debate anything and everything — so stop and ask yourself if it’s really that important.

Aquarius

AQUARIUS

January 20–February 18

Now that Venus in your one-on-one angle is getting along with Saturn in your groups-and-technology zone, those of you who are single should have no problem meeting prospective mates through people you already know or on a website or dating app. So start networking and swiping if you’re looking for love. Common interests and goals will act as a conduit, giving fresh appeal to that club meeting or industry event you were going to skip. If you’re already seeing someone, the planets are dropping hints that you should get to know each other’s friends better, join a group as a couple, sign up for a class together, share an adventure or take a big trip. All of the above are likely to make you feel closer. And if you’re not in a relationship, you also might fall for someone while traveling or studying. Think outside the box because a Venus-Jupiter link indicates an attraction to someone different or foreign. With the sun battling Saturn, you might run into difficulty with a friend or group over sharing, sex, money, jealousy or control. It’s also possible that you’ll be torn between powerful intimacy with one person and the steadier feeling you get from keeping your options open. A Mercury-Mars rendezvous might spell an intense encounter in a close relationship, a cerebral passion project or perhaps a burst of psychological warfare. If you do fight, keep it above the belt!

Pisces

PISCES

February 19–March 20

You could earn accolades for creative work or service to others this week when Venus syncs with Saturn this week. You shouldn’t have any trouble getting along with your coworkers, and if you have a crush on one, it could turn into something more serious now. Those of you who are already attached can make significant headway working on a relationship problem under this influence. Venus is also gelling with Jupiter in your sharing sector, reinforcing the theme of getting interpersonal issues out in the open and growing together as a couple. A creative collaboration would be super beneficial as well, so seek out a partner if you have a project in mind. With Mercury and Mars winding each other up in your one-on-one angle, you might have words with someone. If both of you can avoid defensiveness, clearing the air will likely move things forward. The sun’s discord with Saturn also hints at a test in a business partnership, friendship or romantic relationship. This transit can make you question where a relationship is headed and whether you’re on the same page. Does one of you boss around the other too much? It’s also a good chance to examine how you relate to authority. Are you too timid or malleable? Know your value, and don’t settle for a disrespectful dynamic.

Aries

ARIES

March 21–April 19

The planets are giving you permission to enjoy yourself this week! Having a good time can firm up your faith in the future, courtesy of a Venus-Saturn meeting, so indulge in life’s pleasures. Whatever makes you happy — a romantic date, trivia night at the pub with friends, playing with kids or pets, diving into a creative project — just do it. Having fun can teach you something, and Saturn will make sure that any risks you take will be calculated ones. Venus is also in sync with Jupiter in your one-on-one angle, emphasizing the value of a partner in crime. And since this is an aspect that favors a love connection with a person who’s foreign to you in some way, single Rams should definitely date outside their comfort zone this week. If you’re in a relationship, this would be a great time to take a class or trip together. The sun in your efficiency corner is sparring with Saturn, though, suggesting that you might feel bogged down by work. Try to do what needs doing within the boundaries of what you know to be true. Combining discipline and vision will ensure your success. Don’t push your luck by being shortsighted. A Mercury-Mars coalition spells cerebral stamina, so find a challenging mental task to sink your teeth into!

Taurus

TAURUS

April 20–May 20

With your ruling planet cozying up to Saturn this week, you’ll have a chance to enjoy the peaceful feeling of being at home in your own skin or being close to another person. Given Saturn’s reputation as a taskmaster, the best aspect of this experience may be that you’ve truly earned this feeling! You’ve been working on yourself or on this relationship, and now you get to relax into self-acceptance or intimacy. If you’re in a serious relationship, this planetary configuration also hints at cohabitation, although you might simply savor private time at home together. Regardless of your relationship status, relish the pleasant sense of security. The sun is sparring with Saturn, which could yank you out of your bliss and lead you to fret over your imperfections or a romance’s staying power. Don’t let fear stand in your way. Recognize that you’re a work in progress (as we all are!) and relationships require mutual dedication. Mercury and Mars are aligned in your self-expression house, setting you up for a creative burst, a bold declaration of your feelings or a fun activity that stimulates both mind and body. To take advantage of a Venus-Jupiter link, you might tackle a decorating project, cook healthy meals and incorporate natural beauty products into your everyday routine.

Gemini

GEMINI

May 21–June 20

If you put off having an important convo with someone while Mercury was retrograde, this week’s Venus-Saturn matchup gives you a great excuse to take the plunge. This planetary blend is especially conducive to talking about relationships, feelings and commitment. With a positive attitude and patience, you have a good chance at reaching an agreement. If you’re attracted to someone new under this influence, it’s not unlikely that you’ll form a lasting connection. Venus is also clicking with Jupiter, who’s hanging out in a house that rules romance and happiness. With this pairing, you might be drawn to someone outside your milieu, have the courage to wear your heart on your sleeve or feel inspired to express your humor, creativity and personality. Since Mercury and Mars are tangled up at the bottom of your chart and the sun is down there too, squabbling with Saturn, your underlying mood is bound to impact your relations. You might test another person to protect yourself (or vice versa) or use sharp words with family or housemates. Juggle spending time by yourself and meeting your obligations to others, and try not to project what’s going on inside you onto the people around you. You might feel irritable, but don’t waste energy assigning blame. It’s a mood, and moods are temporary.

Cancer

CANCER

June 21–July 22

Your mind is moving quickly, thanks to a planetary party in your cognition corner, but your thinking might be met with criticism this week when the sun and Saturn get into a confrontation. This combo pushes you to do your homework, so when you (or naysayers) uncover potential problems, you have an answer. Gather intel, cook up genius ideas, then factcheck yourself so you can make a strong case. Don’t worry over being stuck or getting shot down; work hard to develop something solid. Mercury and Mars are skirmishing in that house, firing you up to sell people on what you have to say. This pairing might also allude to a short trip or tons of activity going on around you. And if you need to learn quickly, it’s the perfect transit for a cram session. Venus in your worth zone is vibing with Saturn, hinting that diligence will pay off, maybe financially or maybe by making you feel really good about yourself. Plus using all the assets and resources at your disposal will enable you to get the job done, so tap into your talents. Spending your hard-earned money on things that will make your space more inviting and comfortable would be a good move, due to Venus’s harmony with Jupiter in your domestic angle. And if you need a confidence boost or financial support, your family is likely to come through!

Leo

LEO

July 23–August 22

Confidence is crucial to proud Lions, and yours could take a hit when your ruler, the sun, runs into a roadblock called Saturn. You might feel like you don’t have what it takes — in terms of finances, talents, self-worth or other assets — to lead a rewarding, happy, creative life filled with love, but this feeling will pass. To get through it, don’t tear yourself down; build yourself up! Enjoy the satisfaction of working to become more complete and self-sufficient. Notice how far you’ve already come. Venus in Leo is simpatico with Jupiter and Saturn, making it super easy to connect with others. If you meet someone new, the relationship is likely to be a positive, stable one. Being curious about people who are different from you will open up new worlds and make your life more exciting, while being willing to work on yourself and work on your relationships will foster love in your life. A Mercury-Mars meetup, if you’re not careful, can easily spark a conflict over money, possessions or values. Use this hotbed of energy to tackle a mental task involving these contentious issues and to actively prioritize. Avoid petty squabbles; only fight for what’s vitally important to you.
